A moors-edge market town
Guisborough is a proper market town with a mix you don't find elsewhere on Teesside: period stone cottages and terraces around Westgate and the market cross, 1930s semis, and newer estates on the edges. Being right under the Cleveland Hills, the town gets more than its share of damp weather, and that shows on roofs and render, moss and algae take hold faster here than in most of the towns we cover.
Older stone and slate
The older parts of Guisborough have stone walls, slate roofs and the kind of traditional materials that need a careful approach rather than a one-size-fits-all clean. Slate holds moss and lichen differently to concrete tile, and older guttering needs checking as much as clearing. Where a roof is too fragile for our rotary disc equipment, we scrape by hand and finish with a biocide treatment that carries a 12-month regrowth guarantee.
Driveways and patios across the town
From stone setts and older concrete near the centre to modern block paving on the newer estates, Guisborough's driveways vary as much as its houses. Shaded drives under trees towards the hills pick up moss and black spot quickly, and a proper clean brings them back. Straight down the A171
Guisborough is an easy run from our patch, straight down the A171 past Middlesbrough, so we're in the town regularly. It also makes combining services in one visit simple: a roof clean alongside gutters and a driveway wash, for example, all quoted properly in advance. Get in touch and we can talk through what makes sense for your property.
Newer estates too
The newer estates around the edge of town have the render finishes and modern roof coverings you'd expect from more recent builds, the kind of properties that show algae staining on shaded render within a few years. Both ends of Guisborough's housing mix need different handling, and we treat each on its own terms.
